President Obama signed the much anticipated compromise tax bill negotiated with the GOP today that extended some of the Bush tax cuts for another 2 years in exchange for the GOP agreeing to extend unemployment benefits again.
A Will is a legal document that can provide for the orderly disposition of a person's assets after death. Wills have no legal authority until the willmaker dies and the original Will is delivered to the Probate Court.
The answer is "no." Those who MUST have a Will are people who recently purchased life insurance, newlyweds, and people who have minor children. If you fall into one or more of these three groups, you should have a Will—fill in the information below or CALL 508-340-3134 Today or if in Western MA, CALL 413-588-8298 to schedule your FREE, no obligation consultation.
A Living Trust is a legal document that controls your assets as you direct. Think of it as an invisible piggy bank that you control and that can last after you pass away to control who gets your assets and even what they do with them after you're gone. The traditional Living Trust is created for the express purpose of managing the dispersal of property, saving money in taxes upon one's death and avoiding Probate.
A properly designed Living Trust can do all this PLUS protect financial privacy, strengthen protections against fraud and misappropriation of savings and provide protections and guidelines if one is incapacitated. The very best trusts, those designed by me, can do all this AND extend these benefits and protections beyond your lifetime to your children and grandchildren. For this reason, my trusts are different than those created by other lawyers. My trusts are called Life Plans™.
It's true, traditional trusts were designed to avoid probate court costs and estate taxes when you die. However, avoiding these expenses at death is much different than protecting yourself during your life. Traditional trusts are not designed to protect you before you die, nor to protect your spouse, children or grandchildren after you die. Do you think it's important to protect those you leave behind? My Life Plan™ does it all!
A Life Plan™ created by The Law Offices of Howard S. Kirkpatrick, is a living trust on steroids! It is a comprehensive estate plan (twelve to fifteen legal documents in all) that seeks to solve your death AND life problems. A Life Plan™ from my firm manages the distribution of your property and attempts to avoid Probate and save tax upon your death. But it does much, much more. The Life Plan™ also protects your financial privacy, strengthens protections against incapacity and misappropriation of funds, provides protection for your surviving spouse and protects the assets you leave your heirs from being lost to their financial issues, such as divorce, bankruptcy and lawsuits. As the name suggests, it is a plan for LIFE.
To see how my Life Plan™ can save you money, time and bring peace of mind, schedule your FREE consultation now! Call 508-340-3134 today or if in Western MA, CALL 413-588-8298
Attorney Kirkpatrick's plan saved me and my family over $10,000 the day we signed our documents. We're glad we didn't go with the lawyer our financial advisor suggested. He was cheaper, but you always get what you pay for. Howard's system will make sure our kids and grandkids get our money—not the government! Only a fool would pay more than their fare share of taxes!"
